The first mistake entrepreneurs make
Avoiding the mistake of launching to no audience
One of the first mistakes I’ve seen new entrepreneurs make, over all the years working in this space, is launching without building an audience first
Essentially, launching to no one. (No, your best friend, roomate and mom don’t count).
You wouldn’t start a speech or a presentation to an empty auditorium.
You wouldn’t start a birthday party without any guests.
There’s a lot you wouldn’t start without an audience, especially given all the efforts, energy and everything you put into this.
So what do you do instead?
First, you start with your brand.
Build a brand, including its voice and style.
Do the research on who the market is and who’s your audience.
Test to see if the branding is a fit with the audience you’ve chosen.
Second, you start to build a community.
Join other communities to learn and engage.
Share the process and behind the scenes journey.
Determine how you can provide value.
Follow other relevant accounts.
Finally, you’re getting ready to launch.
Develop interest and hype.
Prepare an initial offer, launch event or giveaway.
Encourage people to share – and give them a reason to.
