This retired astronaut continues to inspire and create impact
Chris Hadfield, the the first Canadian to walk in space and first Canadian Commander of the International Space Station, has not stopped.
He is a musician, speaker, author of multiple books, professor, advisor to SpaceX and Virgin Galactic, and more. This is all after being a tactical fighter pilot (serving 25 years in the Canadian Armed Forces), and being NASA’s director of operations, among other roles. An epic career is an understatement.
I had the honour of meeting Commander Chris a several weeks ago, and he’s such a passionate, positive, inspiring guy.
Last month I had the chance to see him on-stage in Toronto at Elevate Festival where he shared his experiences being surrounded by life-threatening risk in space – where his daily routine was to prepare for and solve worst-case scenarios, from both a team and leadership perspective, while maintaining an optimistic and positive work environment.
There’s a lot to learn from this Canadian icon.
